Niall Ferguson as Neo-Malthusian
Another installment in our ‘Malthusianism never dies’ series, this time from historian Niall Ferguson:
For a long time we have deluded ourselves that “illimitable improvement” was attainable. As the world approaches a new era of dearth, expect misery - and its old companion vice - to make a mighty Malthusian comeback.
Ferguson’s counterfactual histories are unconvincing enough, without buying into his prognostications for the future.
